CONÓCETE AL HUESO — The Book
In October 2023, I launched my first art show, Conócete Al Hueso, which was one of the most personal and important moments of my life. It was an unconventional art show, basically a one-day-only experience. It was an endurance performance and photo exhibition that combined storytelling, self-portraiture, and physical movement to explore identity, reflection, and what I was carrying at the time.
Well, now I’m officially self-publishing the project as my first photography book. It includes over 50 unpublished photos (I only showed 12 in the gallery), more context behind the performance, and just more of everything. I’ve been working on this for months. I'm handling all the design of the book, and the publishing. I cannot wait to show y’all. I feel like this is the official closer to the project.
I also made a new design called Know Yourself, and it will be printed on a t-shirt. It’s a design I made pulling from Mexican Indigenous art, Greek aesthetics, and vintage graphics. And yes, that is supposed to be me, in case anyone’s wondering. Sometimes you have to set the example you didn’t grow up seeing.
