Saul Rascon Salazar
I met Saul back in December of 2017.
We were in Washington D.C. with the Vote 4 Dream campaign, advocating for a permanent solution for DACA recients. It was a very hectic year, as Trump rescinded DACA, and there was a lot of organizing efforts in DC.
Saul, along with his friends, joined us in DC for a week. He took a week off of school just too advocate for a solution, a week before his finals too. Saul and his friends are DACA recipients, so this was very urgent for them.
Fast forward to now, Saul has since became a fellow at Aliento (where I work) and became a leader for education equity. We’ve worked together closely with the Arizona’s Future campaign, where he helped organize his school at Brophy become voices for tuition access for all Arizona graduates regardless of immigration status.
So proud of the dude.
